British rock band Coldplay has announced a third show in Mumbai as part of their “Music of The Spheres World Tour 2025” due to overwhelming demand from fans. This new show is set to take place on January 21 at the DY Patil Sports Stadium. Tickets for this additional date will go on sale today at 2 PM IST through the online ticketing platform BookMyShow.
The announcement came after fans expressed disappointment over long virtual queues on BookMyShow when tickets for the two previously scheduled shows on January 18 and 19 were released. Coldplay shared the news on X, stating, “Due to phenomenal demand, a third Mumbai date has been added at DY Patil Stadium for 21 January, 2025. Tickets on sale at 2 PM IST today,” along with a link for booking.
Reports indicated that the BookMyShow website and app faced significant technical issues on Sunday as they opened ticket sales for the band’s highly anticipated concerts. As a result, the platform crashed, leading to a surge of frustration among fans. Hashtags like “Coldplay,” “BookMyShow,” and “Crashed” began trending on X.
Many fans took to social media to share their experiences, posting screenshots of their frozen screens as they tried to access the app, which was overloaded with traffic. The ticket sales for the first two shows were supposed to start at noon, but many users reported that tickets remained unavailable even after 12:15 PM.
With the addition of the third show, Coldplay's concerts in Mumbai are shaping up to be a major event, drawing attention from music lovers across the country.
