As part of the regular activities of Bangladesh Coast Guard from Thursday, (September 3) to Friday (September 4), a special rehearsal of the Coast Guard was conducted at Payra Port in Patuakhali.
During the inauguration of the exercise, Director General of BCG Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haque visited the port in person. Payra Port Chairman Commodore Humayun Kallol and senior officials of the Coast Guard were present on the occasion.
The exercise showcased the activities of the Coast Guard in ensuring the safety of the ships plying at Payra Port as well as the safety of thermal power plants, service jetties and critical installations under construction.
Coast Guard ships BCGS Mansur Ali, BCGS Sonar Bangla, HPB Buriganga and HPB Shitalaksha participated in the special rehearsal.
In addition to ensuring the security of the port, the Coast Guard will continue its ongoing activities in the coastal areas to prevent illegal smuggling, piracy, illegal fishing, destruction of forest resources and trafficking of women and children.
