An extortion-free CNG-run auto rickshaw stand was named after Mugdha, who became a martyr during anti-discriminatory student movement. It was inaugurated in Faridpur on Friday.
Residents of Alipur area inaugurated the CNG-run auto rickshaw stand at Labhlu Road in Faridpur town on Friday afternoon.
Earlier, a doa mahfil was held at Alipur Kha Eidgah field in Faridpur town to pray for the salvation of the departed soul of those who became martyr in the student movement.
Mohammad Ali Khan, an elder of the area, presided over the inauguration programme. Local resident Azam Khan, Professor Tarek Aiyub Khan, coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement Abrar Nayeem Itu, Shah Mohammad Arafat, Saif khan and others spoke in the programme.
BNP President of ward no. 11 Shorforaz Khan Shundor, renowned businessman Ashikur Rahman Bacchu and respected people of the area were present at that time.
The program was organized by local residents Sagar Khan, Sajid Khan, Saif Khan and Sajib Khan.
Superintendent of Alipur Kha Para Madrasa Maulana Mustafa Kamal led the prayer at the programme.
The speaker said at that time that Sheikh Hasina government collapsed because people from all walks of life participated in the movement. We have achieved independence again. So this independence has to be maintained. Security has to be provided to the minorities of the country. The country must become well developed. Everyone needs to work together for that. Everyone should be careful that there is no division or pride among us.
