Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has distributed blankets on behalf of CPDL among the cold-ridden people.
CMP organised a programme at DamparaPolice Lines on Saturday afternoon. Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
CPDL handed over 1000 pieces of blankets to CMP and Community Policing Cell ofcityto distribute among the poor and distressed people.
CMP Commissioner KrishnaPada Roy said that a blanket may be a temporary solution but it is not a permanent solution.Thesuffering of helpless, miserable and hungry people know no bound in severe cold. This initiative of the police will alleviate the suffering of cold ridden people. He urged the rich people of the society to extend their hands to help the poor and distressed people.
