Chittagang Medical College (CMC) hospital launched IUI technology to modern treatment of childless couples. It has added intra-uterine insemination or IUI technology at Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital with the aim of increasing the ability to conceive through modern medical services for childless couples and increasing the ability to conceive children in relatively complex patients.
Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital Director Brigadier General Md. Shamim Ahsan inaugurated the program of IUI procedure on Wednesday morning.
The journey of Artificial Reproductive Technology (ART) or IUI, the previous stage of IVF, started under the leadership of Professor Dr. Sahena Akhtar, Head of Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and Principal of Chattogram Medical College (CMC).
CMC Principal Dr. Sahena Akhtar said, "This is our effort to increase the fertility of more complex patients so that more childless women can get lucky to become mothers.
Expert doctors said that by introducing the IUI method, more advanced and new doors have been opened in infertility treatment at CMC Hospital.
Its mentioned that the activities of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Unit under Women and Obstetrics Department of CMC Hospital started from February 7, 2021 to provide medical services to childless couples.
Initially outdoor services, Ultrasonography (TVS), Saline Infusion Sonography (SIS), Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy started. So far 4012 patients have been treated under the supervision of Infertility Specialist Dr. Taslima Begum. Where 144 patients became pregnant.
