Members of Bandar Police Station have fallen into a dilemma to run the investigation and submit charge sheet in Mahabubur Rahman murder case due to an unclear autopsy report of the deceased, conducted in Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
A Lecturer of Faridpur Medical College forensic department Dr. Shaheen Mahmud issued the post mortem report on January 31, 2020. The physician conducting the autopsy filled the report with illegible words that are not readable to the case investigator.
In the last part of the report where the physician gave his opinion over death he wrote “In my opinion, the death was caused due to haemorrhage, then used an arrow symbol and then wrote shock then again use arrow symbol and also wrote head injuries”.
Dr. Shaheen Mahmud’s phone was found switched off while trying to contact him regarding the issue over cell phone. Mahabubur Rahman's widow Razia Begum, resident of Barangtula village of Alphadanga police station in Faridpur had filed a murder case with Bandar police station in Narayanganj district on February 5, 2020.
The accused are Kabir Hossain, 50, Poliya Rahman, 55, Sobuj Sikder, 36, Zakir Hossain Chunnu, 40, Nayan, 30, Rayhan, 33, Saiful Islam, 42, Liton Hossain, 45, Ripon Prodhan, 35, Harun Majhi, 40 and Nobi, 40.
Bandar Police Station chief Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said that the post mortem report of slain Mahabubur Rahman is not yet clear to them so they have to wait for expert report.
When talked to a physician Dr. Asaduzzaman who also conducts autopsy he said that the autopsy report does not mention the reason behind death. A physician has to write the direct reason of death in the post mortem report. He can’t give any uncertain reason like this report.
