The teachers and students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday staged a cleanliness expedition on the campus for celebrating leap year.
Environment Science and Geography department of the university organised the campaign as part of making eco-campus activities in front of the university main entrance around 11:00am. IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the event as chief gust while IU pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha attended here as special guests.
While inaugurating, vice chancellor Dr Rashid Askari said, such activities grows students’ realization and patriotism and urged the students to keep their campus neat and clean.
Over 200 teachers and students of the department attended the campaign.
Earlier, the department organised several cleanliness events in order to make eco-campus by removing polythene bags and plastics from the campus.
