Sabuj Andolan Chhatra Parishad (green movement student council) organised ‘Clean Dhaka, Green Dhaka’ programme in the capital’s Aftabnagar area on Wednesday.
Plantation and cleaning programmes are being implemented at various times under the initiative of the green movement, and consistently this programme will be implemented at every ward of Dhaka city, says a press release.
Bappi Sardar, founder and chairman of the governing council of the Sabuj Andolan, was the chief guest of the event with Coordinator of Hatirjheel area of the parishad Niamat Ullah Siraji in chair.
Bappi said that to build a clean Dhaka city, forming area-based coordination committees, introducing panchayat system to monitor it, stopping polythene production in factories and increasing the use of jute products, setting enough dustbins and making ward councilors accountable should be ensured.
