The beloved Indian crime show "CID" is making a comeback after a six-year break. Sony TV announced this exciting news on Instagram, and fans are eagerly waiting for its return.
The teaser shared by the channel shows Shivaji Satam back in his iconic role as ACP Pradyuman, alongside Aditya Srivastava, who will reprise his role as Inspector Abhijeet. The post also hinted that a fantastic promo for the series would be released on October 26.
In an interview with Times of India, Aditya Srivastava expressed his excitement about returning to the show. He said that the cast and crew are thrilled to start filming again. The show is expected to air in December. For now, the team has only filmed a promo, which will be unveiled soon, while full production will begin shortly.
Aditya shared his hope that the audience will receive "CID" with the same love and enthusiasm as before. He noted that discussions to revive the show had been happening for a while but did not come to fruition until now. "The channel wanted to bring the show back because it has been one of the most popular and beloved series," he explained. "Eventually, everything came together, and Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and I signed on. We have a deep emotional connection to this show."
Even though Aditya has acted in over 20 films, he mentioned that people still recognize him as Abhijeet from "CID." This recognition makes him feel special, confirming that his character has left a lasting impression. Created by BP Singh, "CID" aired from January 1998 to October 2018, totaling 1,547 episodes over 20 years, making it one of India’s longest-running TV shows.
