Biennial Election of Chuadanga Press Club will be held on January 27 (Saturday). All preparations have taken by the election committee. Two panels are contesting in the election. So, all candidates are contacting the voters to cast votes in their favour.
According to Adv Sahrab Hossain, Chief Convener of Election Committee, a total of 46 members will cast their votes on the day.
Two panels have submitted their nomination papers and they will contest in the election. A 13-member executive committee will be elected in the election.
One panel is Rajib Hasan Kochi (President)-Nazmul Hoque Swapan (General Secretary) parishad. The office-bearers of the panel are- Rafiqu Rahman-vice president, Hossain Malik-Joint Secretary, Mahfuz Mamun-treasurer, Zaman Akhtar-cultural secretary, Sanjit Karmokar-Sports Secretary, Mofizur Rahman Joarder-Office Secretary. On the other hand, members are Azad Malita, Kamaluddin Joarder, Rifat Rahman, Rizaul Karim Liton and Mosiur Rahman.
Another panel is Faizar Chowdhury (President)-Bipul Ashraf (General Secretary) parishad. In this panel Ahad Ali Mollah-vice president, Islam Rokib-Joint Secretary, Atiar Rahman-treasurer, Johir Raihan Sohag-cultural secretary, Sohel Sozib-sports secretary and Abul Hashem-Office Secretary have been contesting in the election. Rafiqul Islam, Shah Alam Sony, Khairuzzaman Setu, Shamim Reza and Polash Uddin are in the race as member.
It is learnt, all candidates are going to every door of voters seeking vote. Sometimes all candidates of the panels have been contacting every voter separately. They are trying to motivate the voters for casting their vote in favour of them.
It may be mentioned here, Sardar Al Amin (President)-Kamruzzaman Chad (General Secretary) panel and Sheikh Selim (President)-MA Mamun (General Secretary) panel are contesting to form Chuadanga Sangbadik Samity’s executive committee on the day.
