All operations of the Chuadanga Regional Passport Office are closed for a week. AVR machine gets damaged due to repeated voltage fluctuations. However, the passport office officials could not say for sure when the program will be activated.

According to Chuadanga Passport Office sources, a transformer exploded under the passport office on hospital road in Chuadanga city around 5 pm last Wednesday. In this, the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) of the passport office is burnt due to the rise and fall of the electricity voltage. That stopped the entire operation of the office. When the matter was immediately reported to the higher authorities of the Immigration and Passport Office, engineers from there came to the Chuadanga regional office. AVR could not be activated after several attempts. The device is damaged due to repeated voltage fluctuations.

Going to the Chuadanga Regional Passport Office on Tuesday afternoon, it was seen that the service-seekers were going back after coming to the office without getting any service. Meanwhile, it is written on the main gate, it is hereby informed for the general information that the server has been burnt due to electrical disturbance, therefore all activities will be temporarily suspended. We will resume operations as soon as the server is fixed. We sincerely apologize for the temporary closure.

Belal Hossain of Chuadanga Sadar Upazila Sarojganj Boalia village said that for the last three years I have been coming to the office to make passports, but I see that all activities of the passport office are closed.

Anwarul Islam of Utholi village of Jibannagar upazila said, I submitted for emergency passport 15 days ago. My passport is done. But I am unable to collect the passport as the server is down. No official here can say when it will be fixed. Also, many people are coming from different villages of the district for passport delivery or submission. They have to go back without getting any activities.
