Chittagong University (CU) will start its 1st year graduation (Honours) classes for the academic year 2023-2024 on June 30. This announcement was made in a circular signed by SM Akbar Hoshain, the Deputy Registrar of CU and Secretary of the Admission Committee, on Tuesday, June 11.
The circular stated that the decision to begin classes on June 30 was taken during the 13th meeting of the admission management committee held on May 23, 2024. According to the circular, all departments and institutes of the university will commence their 1st year Honours classes on the specified date, which falls on a Sunday.
This year saw a massive number of applicants. A total of 243,555 students applied for admission to the 1st year of graduation at CU. With only 4,926 available seats, the competition was fierce, with 49 applicants contending for each seat. The admission tests were conducted over a span of two weeks, from March 2 to March 16. CU is one of the leading universities in Bangladesh, known for its diverse range of programs and high academic standards. The university administration has made all necessary preparations to welcome the new students.
