‘Chironjib Mujib,’ the biopic based on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's memoirs ‘Ausamapta Atmajiboni’ (The Unfinished Memoirs) was premiered at the Bangladesh Film Archive on Sunday.
A press meet was also held at the same venue before the premiere of ‘Chironjib Mujib’ ahead of the film's launch on December 31.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest and secretary of the ministry Md Mokbul Hossain as the special guest at the event.
Md Nazrul Islam, prime minister's speechwriter, has directed the film and penned the dialogues while the screenplay is written by Jewel Mahmud, also the creative director of the film. It has been produced by Liton Haider. All of them were present at the event.
The minister said: "We still do not know a lot of things about Bangabandhu. This film has bridged this gap, painting a true picture – sacrifices and struggles – of Bangabandhu."
Nazrul said, "The film is based on a part of Bangabandhu's autobiography. Bangabandhu did not become Bangabandhu in a day. The story of his becoming Bangabandhu has been showcased in the film. Prime minister evaluated the story and the dialogues."
"Making a historical film is never easy. We also faced challenges. However, finally, we are about to release the film. This was all about teamwork and I am grateful to everyone."
