Chinese Professor calls on DU VC

Prof. Liu Zongui, Deputy Director of Shanghai Institute of International Studies, China called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Thursday at the latter’s office of the university.

He was accompanied by First Secretary of Chinese Embassy in Dhaka Mrs. Lang. Director of DU International Affairs Office Prof. Dr. Shamsad Mortuza was present on this occasion. During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially regarding inauguration of the Chinese Studies Centre at Dhaka University. They stressed the need of enhancing ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs among the University of Dhaka and different universities in China to further strengthen the existing friendly and bilateral relations between the two countries. 

Researches, workshops, seminars and dialogues will be arranged every year at the Chinese Studies Centre. 

Besides, Chinese Government will provide all sorts of cooperation and present books to this centre, Prof. Liu Zongui said.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, China has been hugely contributing to overall development of Bangladesh including education, research and infrastructure sectors for a long time. This contribution will continue in the days to come, DU VC hoped.
