China’s Heaven Lake, a paradise of natural beauty, sees many people rushing to distant mountains to visit and discover the true extravagance of nature.
It is a place of diverse hill natural beauty not only in winter and monsoon but all year round. Nature has shown itself here. Tourists come here to visit and never return home upset. Those who want to get the touch of evergreen, they have to go to the hills of the hill town.
Heaven Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It is a tremendously relaxing area, and when the sun shines bright, you are instantly enchanted by the glimmering blue waters. Since the lake is very high — almost 1,910m (metres) above the sea level with its deepest part reaching 105m — the sight below will take your breath away, especially in the winter.
There is a desperate play of beauty across the mountains. That beauty is enhanced by the lake coming out from the chest of the mountain. In one word, it is an eye-catching, mind-blowing view.
Tianchi is surrounded by spruce trees while the lake surface reflects Bogda Peak, making the surrounding scenery seem like it came out of a fairytale.
Yu Guang Yue, director of Bangla Department, China Media Group, told Bangladesh Post, it is Tianchi Lake, which means heavenly lake or pond.
“There is a temple of the Queen of Heaven here. The queen of heaven used to bathe in this lake. Hence, people believe it is a holy place. So everyone comes here and prays for their loved ones. They think it will fulfill their wishes by coming here and saying prayers. Many write good wishes for their loved ones on a red ribbon on a tree inside the lake,” she mentioned.
Seeing Heaven Lake is a dream for many, she said, adding that, if people come to Xinjiang, they will come to see this lake. The environment here is absolutely pollution free and clear water, she mentioned.
“It is 1,910 meters above sea level. Its deepest part is 105 meters below sea level. But we didn’t have trouble breathing. The lake has created income opportunities for the local community, helping them to become self-reliant,” Yue said.
The delegation of Bangladesh including writers, journalists and publishers has recently visited Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Province, China at the invitation of China Media Group’s Dhaka studio.
A member of the delegation, Dr Harun Rashid, Deputy Editor of Jagonews24.com, told this correspondent that Lake of Heaven is a place of natural beauty.
The lake is mainly surrounded by mountains, it seems, the Mountains are mixed with the sky, he mentioned.
Poet KaziNazrul Islam said in one of his songs, the mountain is sleeping by leaning on the sky, he said, adding that looking at the lake in Xinjiang, I feel like the mountains are sleeping in the sky.
Meanwhile, a visitor’s entrance ticket of RMB 155 includes the shuttle bus ride from the ticket office to the lake. The ride takes about 30 minutes through fantastic scenery. Get a seat on the right of the bus for the best views.
It’s still about a 15-minute uphill walk from where the shuttle bus will drop you. It’s a nice walk, and if you come from southern Xinjiang, you will love the crisp air and greenery.
Heaven Lake will be packed with Chinese visitors, who will mostly hang around this spot to take selfies. Hit one of the many paths, and soon, you’ll find tranquility and even more spectacular views.
You can take a cruise on the lake for about RMB 100 or take a cable car up to a viewpoint for an overpriced RMB 220. Or you could just enjoy the scenery and fresh air and hike along the many paths like we did.
Hugging the lake, an easy and flat path will lead you along the shore and over a few rope bridges to the Heavenly Queen Mother of the West Temple. Upon reaching the Taoist temple, you will need to climb a series of long steps to get to the actual temple.
However, Tianchi of Tianshan is a well-known lake in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China.
It is located on the north hillside of Bogda Peak, about 100 kilometers away from Urumqi in the northeast.
It is 1,910 meters above sea level, 3.5 kilometers long from south to north and 0.8-1.5 kilometers wide from east to west. Its deepest part is 103 meters below sea level. Tianchi of Tianshan centers on mountains and lakes, snowy peaks are connected and reflected by each other and the lakeside is surrounded by spruces.
