Children’s theatre troupe Panchagarh Shishu-Kishor Bidrohi Theatre staged its production titled Poshur Boyan at the Minerva Theatre in Kolkata, India on Wednesday.
The play was staged on the opening day of a two-day theatre festival organised by an Indian theatre organisation of children titled Esho Natak Shikhi and patronised by Paschim Banga Natya Akademi.
Poshur Boyan has been written and directed by Rahim Abdur Rahim.
The play revolves around the exploitation of natural resources and animals on the planet in the name of human civilisation.
The characters in the play depict rivers, animals, human beings, mountains, trees, water, air, sky and others.
Arpan Das, Piyush Roy, Virat Mohapatra, Abhinav Polle, Sreejit Mondal, Kingshuk Adhikari, Sion Majumdar, Tapomai Dev and Rudram Biswas played different characters in the play. Besides,
Md Nachhibur Rahman Nabil played music in Poshur Boyan.
Five other children’s theatre troupes from Kolkata, Nadia, Darjeeling, South 24 Parganas and Howrah staged their theatrical productions at the festival on Wednesday and Thursday.
Veteran playwright, actor and director Ashok Mukhopadhyay and second secretary at Bangladesh Deputy High Commission, Kolkata Sheikh Marefat Tarikul Islam, among others, were present as guests at the inaugural ceremony, which was anchored by Mithali Bhattacharya.
