Children have passed a joyful day with Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Habibur Rahman at a programme held at Bangladesh Shipakala Academy on Thursday.

At a programme titled 'Police My Friend' organized on the occasion of World Children's Day and Child Rights Week 2023, the children had the chance of asking various questions to the DMP Commissioner.

The DMP chief politely gave answer to all their queries and distributed chocolates and mango bars to children who participated in the event.

Bangladesh Shishu Academy director general AnjirLiton and chairman Lucky Inam along with more than four hundred children and their parents were present on

the fourth day of the week-long programme under the theme 'Invest for children, build the future world'.

DMP Commissioner said traffic congestion is the biggest problem of Dhaka city. "If people of this city with a population of two hundred million are aware, the traffic congestion can be reduced to a great extent," he said.

He urged the city dwellers to follow the slogan, "I should not be the cause of traffic jam on road during movement," while moving on roads.

He said, "Within a very short time of my joining as the DMP commissioner, I have arranged refurbishment of the DMP Media Centre for journalists upon their request within a shortest time of 48 hours. Besides, a hotline number 'Message to Commissioner' will be launched very soon."

The DMP chief said many people have negative conception about police, but they have never contacted police seeking help.

He said, adding, "As the country is changing, police is also changing, police is one step ahead in moving forward on the path of progress. The success of police requires everyone's cooperation."

Habibur Rahman applauded the children who wanted to become police officer when they grow up.
