Speakers at a community dialogue with the girl students here has emphasized on enhancing awareness among the family members to check child marriage and dengue diseases.
The dialogue was held at the Auditorium of Ajaipur Girls High School under Chapainawabganj municipality on Wednesday afternoon which was arranged by the local District Administration in association with UNICEF, European Union and US-AID.
Deputy Director of the Local Government Department of Chapainawabganj Debendranath Orao attended it as chief guest while head master of the school Md. Shafiqul Islam presided over the dialogue.
Chapainawabganj sadar UNO Mst. Tasmina Khatun attended it as special guest.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner of Chapainawabganj District Administration Mithun Moitra, president of Chapainawabganj Press Club Shahidul Huda Alok, Head Master of Shankarbati Highschool Shafiqul Islam, member of the Ajaipur Girls High School Md. Abdul Khaleque and students Golam Raisa Tanjim, Rafia Khatun and Shahriar Nafis Siam spoke on the occasion.
The chief guest said, if a girl is married away before she becomes prepared physically and mentally, she may become the victim to different diseases. He asked all to remain alert so that the child marriage cannot be happened because it is a punishable offence. He also stressed on keeping both inside and outside the houses clean and sleeping with mosquito net to check dengue.
