A child died after drowning in a bucket of water at a house at Bangram in capital’s Wari area on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Amena, one-year old. She lived with her parents on the second floor of a six-storey building near the water tank at 37/7 Bangram Road under Wari Police Station.
This incident took place at around 10:30 am at the area.
Later, the child was rescued unconscious and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctor declared her dead.
The child's father, Tajul Islam, said that the child's mother was busy with cooking at home in the morning. At that time his daughter Amena went to the bathroom and fell into the bucket of water.
Later, she was rescued from there in an unconscious state and was taken to DMCH around noon where doctor declared
her dead.
DMCH police camp In-charge Bachchu Mia said, the body has been kept in the hospital morgue.
