A 15-month old child died in a road accident at Bagha on Thursday early morning when the parents of the child were returning home at Bagha village after performing a funeral prayer at Mominpur village under Lalpur upazila of Natore district.
The deceased child was identified as Abdur Rahman son of Mahbub Alam of Bengari-Chandpur village under Gorgori union of Bagha upazila of Rajshahi district.
According to sources, Mahbub Alam along with his wife and 15-month aged child Abdur Rahman went to attend a funeral prayer of mother-in-law of his younger brother Abdul Malek at Mominpur village under Lalpur upazila on Wednesday afternoon.
After the funeral prayer, Mahbub Alam and his family members were returning to his work-place in Pabna district through a CNG. While they reached near Dashuria traffic crossing, a mud laden tractor hit their vehicle fronm behind turning the CNG upside down beside the road injuring the passengers severely.
The injured were rushed to Dashuria sadar Hospital when the attending doctors declared child Abdur Rahman dead. Injured Mahbub Alam and his wife were given first aid in the hospital.
Rabiul Islam Robi, Chairman of Gorgori union under Bagha upazila in this connection said, Mahbub Alam works as Executive Officer at Square Toiletries in Pabna and used to live at a rented house at Kalachandpara area under Pabna district. His minor child died in raod accident while he was returning to Pabna after performing a funeral prayer.
Ashish Kumar Sanyal, Officer in charge of Paksey Highway police informed, being infomed, police went to the accident scene and handed over the dead body of child Abdur Rahman. An UD case has been filed with Ishurdi PS in this connection.
