Inspector General of Police Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary said number of law enforcers would be increased inside the Rohingya refugee camps.
He said to manage 11 lakhs of Rohingya refugees, the present number of law enforcers are not adequate.The police superintendent made the comments to media around 8:00 pm on Tuesday after visiting three main Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar.
Director General of BGB Major General Md Safinul Islam, Director General of RAB Benazir Ahmed, Special Branch chief and also the Additional IGP Mir Shahidul Islam, and DIG of Chattogram Range Khandaker Golam Faruk also accompanied the IGP during the visit.
The IGP said we inspected the camp situation altogether. After reaching Dhaka, we woulkd work on a plan to ensure law and order situation of Rohingya camps.
Prior to that, after reaching Cox's Bazar on Tuesday morning, a briefing was held at the conference room of Cox's Bazar Police.
At the briefing, local law enforcing officials gave power point presentation describing the present refugee situation.
Cox's Bazar Police Superintendent ABM Masud Hossain, Additional Refugee Rescue and Releases Commissioner Samasuddoja Nayan, and Additional Superintendent of Police Iqbal Hossain were present during the visit.
