Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan stressed the importance of each person's fundamental right to justice at the Rangpur District Judiciary’s “Nyaykunja” shed inauguration ceremony for litigants and witnesses.
Addressing the gathering on Thursday morning, Chief Justice Hassan stressed the importance of ensuring litigants' comfort during court proceedings to expedite judicial processes.
Asserting the constitutional mandate for equitable access to justice, Chief Justice Hassan underscored the pivotal role of judges in facilitating fair legal proceedings. The newly inaugurated Nyaykunja, with its 1,000-square-foot area accommodating 72 seating areas, separate facilities for men and women, breastfeeding rooms, and food canteens, exemplifies the commitment to enhancing judicial accessibility, he added.
Furthermore, Chief Justice Hassan revealed plans to establish similar Nyaykunja facilities across all districts in the country, aiming to streamline legal proceedings and uphold the principle of justice for all.
Following the inauguration, Chief Justice Hassan engaged with judges and legal professionals, urging them to redouble their efforts in delivering swift justice. Notable attendees at the event included Supreme Court High Court Division Justice AKM Saifur Rahman, Rangpur Senior District and Session Judge Fazle Khoda Mohammad Nazir, and other distinguished members of the judiciary and legal fraternity.
