Chattogram Customs collected a revenue of Tk 4 thousand 838 crore 51 lakh in July. Which is 356 crores 51 lakhs more than the target in the first month of the current fiscal year 2022-23. The target for July was Tk 4,482 crore.
Chattogram Customs Joint Commissioner Salahuddin Rizvi said, Chattogram Customs has collected good revenue despite economic challenges including inflation due to the effect of Russia-Ukraine war. Growth was around 8 percent in July compared to the target. A growth of over 42 percent has been achieved over the previous year.
This growth has been achieved due to proper use of CPC, proper HS code determination along with proper taxation. He also said that Chattogram Customs will play a positive role in revenue collection in the coming days.
In the month of July last year, the revenue collected was Tk 3 thousand 394 crores and 5 lakhs. According to this, 1 thousand 444 crore 46 lakh rupees more revenue has been collected in July this year compared to the last financial year.
The growth rate during the year stood at 42.56 percent. Besides, the customs said that the revenue collection was 7.95 percent more than the target. As a result Chattogram Custom House started the financial year with satisfactory growth in revenue collection.
