Chittagong University (CU) BNCC initiative of putting on the rank badges of the army wing cadets promoted by the regiment and the certificate distribution ceremony of the cadets trained by the Department of Youth Development was held on Sunday at the CU BNCC office premises.
Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar was present as the chief guest on the occasion. CU Pro VC (Academic) Prof. Benu Kumar Dey and Regimental Commander of BNCC Headquarters Karnaphuli Regiment Lt. Col. Rahat Newaj were present as special guests.
CU BNCC Commanding Officer 2nd Lt. Professor Dr. Bayezid Mahmud Khan presided over the programme, while CU BNCC PUO (Acting) Dr. Sohag Mia moderated it. BNCC Officer (Assistant Registrar) Bidhan Roy also spoke on the occasion.
CU VC said, 'BNCC cadets are a well-coordinated, well-equipped smart team in Chittagong University. The way the cadets have been cooperating in various programs of the university along with academic education in Chittagong University through discipline, discipline, punctuality and command is highly commendable.
She said, "Today, the responsibility has increased on those who are getting rank badges through promotion".
She wished success to those who are getting the certificate through successful training from the Department of Youth Development. All these achievements are expected to serve as a path in their future career. The cadets of the promoted army branches wore their rank badges, followed by a guard of honour by the BNCC cadets.
It was attended by B Company Commander and 2 Lt. Professor Dr. Mohammad Ismail Hossain and PUO (Acting) Nasreen Akhtar in charge of No. 1 Platoon.
