The three-day long ‘Bangladesh Ceramic Expo 2019’ ended on Saturday at Bashundhara International Convention Center in the capital. Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturing and Exports Association arranged the expo for the second time. About 120 companies from 20 countries participated in the expo to showcase their products.
The expo began on Thursday (December 7). Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, MP, was present at the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Fazle Fahim, President of FBCCI, and Sirajul Islam Molla, President of BCMEA were also present at the occasion.
President of Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers’ and Exporters’ Association Md Sirajul Islam Mollah presided over the event.
X Ceramics Group, one of the leading tiles manufacturers in the country, has participated in this expo with all of its innovative products. A total of 122 organisations from 18 countries participated in the expo. X Ceramics Group exhibited its products at its stall (P-5, Hall-4 (Navaratri).
Mahin Bin Mazhar, Managing Director of X Ceramics Group, said, ‘Our company has world-class and innovative and research-based products which were displayed in our stall in the expo.”
The expo highlighted the progress, development, incremental growth of the ceramic industry of the country and the development of skilled manpower. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the expo, Tipu Munshi said that the government would provide necessary cooperation and increase facilities for the exporters to boost the export of ceramic products. “The country’s ceramic products have become popular in the world. The demand of ceramic products is increasing day by day,” he said.
Tipu Munshi also said that Bangladesh has all the facility including environment- friendly factories, gas, electricity and skilled manpower for producing ceramic products. “Bangladesh has the capability to sustain in the competitive global ceramic market. The government will take necessary steps to solve all problems in the ceramic sector,” he added.
Mentioning the ceramic industry was most promising after readymade garment (RMG) FBCCI President Fazle Fahim said, the industry should be awarded the similar fiscal facilities like those of RMG. The BCMEA President said that they arranged the event to promote ceramic exports.
