Central Women’s University organises freshers’ reception

Central Women's University held a Freshers’ Reception on Sunday at its auditorium. While welcoming the newly admitted students of different departments, passing graduates were also bid farewell in the same programme.

Chairpersons and other faculty members along with existing students gave a hearty reception to the new students while they congratulated the graduates giving them crests. Dr M Mufakharul Islam, treasurer and Registrar Elias Ahmed, were also present there.

In her address to the students, Professor Dr Maleka Begum, chairperson, Department of Sociology and Gender Studies emphasized on the value of higher education for women in changing the society in a positive direction.

A student from the Department of CSE read some parts from the autobiography of Professor Beggzadi Mahmuda Nasir, founder Vice Chancellor of the university, ‘Tin Desh, Tin Jibon’. Several other students expressed their expectations and experiences regarding the university. The programme ended with a cultural session.
