Through TCB, crores of families are being given the opportunity to purchase products at low cost. For this, I thank the Prime Minister and the Minister of State for Commerce. Through this we hope the market situation will be more normal.”
Referring to the month of Ramadan as a month of moderation, he said, “If people are given money as hostages, they will not be accountable to anyone in this time, but they will be accountable in the Hereafter. So, even if you make a profit throughout the year, you have to make a mentality that the profit will be limited in the month of Ramadan.”
He said that the Chittagong Chamber has been conducting market monitoring jointly with various departments in consultation with all concerned parties to maintain uninterrupted supply of daily commodities, price control and law and order situation. Every year on the occasion of Holy Ramzan, Chittagong Chamber sells essential consumer goods at subsidized prices for the common people of low income. In continuation of this, we are starting this programme this year as well. This program will continue from 1st to 26th Ramadan.” It is to be noted that Atap and boiled rice are being sold at Tk 35 and sugar at Tk 100 per kg and each buyer can purchase a specified weight of the product in a day.
