Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has introduced the facility of digital submission of house tax and trade license fee to exclude the office from this office. For this, trade license can be obtained and renewed at home by depositing house tax and trade license fee from manual method. 24 trained staff will work in 8 circles of CCC for smooth implementation of these activities.
CCC Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated the e-revenue system software at Anderkilla Old Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday.
CCC Mayor Rezaul said that under the automation program, anyone can pay the tax at home and the taxpayer can know the latest information about his tax at home. As it is online based, the allegations of irregularities against the tax collectors regarding holding tax will also be removed.
The program is being implemented under the Urban Public and Environmental Health Sector Development Project (UPHSDP), mainly under the Local Government Department. Under this, e-revenue system software has been prepared for 7 city corporations including Chittagong. Which is already being used as a pilot project by Dhaka North and South City Corporation. As such, Chittagong City Corporation will start using the software as the third after 2 city corporations in Dhaka.
The software can be used to apply for new holdings, pay taxes online, apply for online trade licenses, pay online trade license fees, renew and modify trade licenses, CCC officials said.
A service recipient can easily open his account in e-revenue system with his e-mail or mobile number. For this you have to click on e-Revenue button from Chittagong City Corporation's website (www.ccc.gov.bd). All the activities of multiple holding and e-trade licenses can be managed from a single user account. However, in order to carry out the old holding or trade license activities online, a user has to obtain an e-holding or e-trade license from the relevant revenue circle of Chasik before or after opening an account. From then on, with that e-holding or e-trade license, all kinds of work can be done including payment of taxes, payment of trade license fee, application for renewal or amendment, payment of fee. It can be printed after paying the bill in e-revenue system.
Foreign investors can apply for a license to conduct business in the commercial capital Chittagong through the One Stop System (OSS) software of the Investment Development Authority (BIDA). Because the e-revenue software of CCC is connected with that software.
Mayor Rezaul said that no kind of house tax will be increased, only its scope will be increased. That is, if the building already has 2 floors or more, then the extended part will be taxed. He urged the city dwellers not to be confused with taxes.
