Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Freedom Fighter Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury wants unity based on harmony among people of all religions to build an egalitarian Bangladesh by resisting communal power.
He said this while inaugurating the Sharadiya Durga Puja organized by the CCC Puja Udjapan Parishad at the Krishna Kumari City Corporation City Corporation Girls High School on Friday.
CCC Mayor said, "Just like the sons of Muslims gave their blood in the liberation war of this country, the sons of Hindus also gave their blood." The country became independent by the self-sacrifice of people of all religions and castes Therefore, unity must be built on the basis of harmony among people of all religions to build a sectarian-free Bangladesh. We are benefiting from Bangabandhu's establishment of non-communalism as the basic principle of the state in the first constitution of Bangladesh. People of all religions in Bangladesh are enjoying full freedom to practice their religion.
CCC Puja Udjapan Parishad President and Councillor Shaibal Das Sumon presided over the event. Councilors Haji Nurul Haque, Zahur Lal Hazari, Pulak Khastagir, reserved women councilors Anjuman Ara Begum, Rumki Sengupta, General Secretary Ripon Kishore Roy of CCC Puja Udjapon Parishad were present.
Swami Saktinathananda, pPincipal of Chattogram Ramakrishna Sevashram lit the Mangalpradip in the puja. The cover of 'Pranam' magazine was unveiled on the occasion of the puja.
