Chattogram City Corporation undertook a tree planting programme in the city to combat the effects of climate change and build a green city. Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury of Chattogram City Corporation inaugurated this programme of tree plantation in Tiger Pass Binnaghas project area on Monday.
The Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, Panel Mayor Mohammad Giyas Uddin, Councilor Abdus Salam Masum, Abul Hasnat Md. Belal, Secretary Md. Ashraful Amin, Private Secretary to Mayor Muhammad Abul Hashem, Chief Education Officer Mohammad Saiful Islam, Chief Accounts Officer Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Malaria and Mosquito Control Officer Shariful Islam Mahi, Deputy Chief Cleaning Officer Morshedul Alam Chowdhury, Slum Development Officer Mainul Hossain Joy and others were present at that time. During the inauguration, CCC Mayor said that the environment should be protected by planting trees in a planned manner. Today, the most discussed topic in the world is climate change and to prevent it, planting trees is essential to protect the environment.
