CCC councillors asked to take steps to tackle possible landslides

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has issued a warning of floods and landslides in Chattogram city.

In a letter signed by CCC Secretary Mohammad Ashraful Amin on Wednesday, the councillors have been asked to take necessary steps in this regard.

Besides, the city corporation authorities are urging the citizens, who are in risky areas, through loudspeakers to move to safe shelters.

According to the warning of the Meteorological Office, deep circulating clouds are forming in the North Bay of Bengal area under the influence of active monsoon for the next three days. It may cause gusty winds over coastal areas and sea ports in the North Bay of Bengal. There is a possibility of floods and landslides in various areas of Chattogram City Corporation, as mentioned in the warning issued by the Meteorological Department on Wednesday. 

Also in the warning message, Chittagong port has been asked to show local warning signal number 3.

In this situation, the CCC has informed the councillors of taking appropriate preventive measures regarding floods and landslides as per the warning message of the Meteorological Office.

The city corporation has also given instructions to those who are living at risk at the foot of the mountain to move to a safe place as soon as possible.
