A popular cartoon exhibition titled “Rebellion in Cartoons” (Cartoon Ey Bidroho) is currently being held in New York. The exhibition started on Friday and will run for three days at Rivertel in Jackson Heights.
This event is organized by the Bangladesh Cartoonist Association, along with Thikana and Earki. Before coming to New York, the exhibition was held at Drik Gallery in Dhaka from August 16 to 30.
The exhibition features a wide range of cartoons and graffiti that have played a significant role in Bangladesh’s student protests against discrimination. These artworks capture the spirit of the protests that took place in July and reflect the voices of the youth demanding change.
The organizers shared their excitement about the event. “We received an unexpected response from the people during the ‘Rebellion in Cartoons’ exhibition in Dhaka. It included cartoons that were shared on social media and news platforms during the mass uprising. After the success in Dhaka, we are now excited to bring the same exhibition to New York for its residents,” they said.
Visitors have the opportunity to see the powerful messages and creativity of the artists. The exhibition highlights the importance of art in expressing thoughts and feelings during challenging times.
The exhibition is open to the public and will continue until 9:00 PM today (local time). It promises to be an engaging experience for those interested in art, culture, and social issues. Anyone in the area is encouraged to visit and appreciate the artworks that reflect the fight for justice and equality in Bangladesh.
