Official vehicle of the Principal of Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) was burnt down inside the garage of RMC early Thursday morning.
Naoshad Ali, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital said that his car was kept inside the garage of the office on Wednesday afternoon. He came to learn around 6am on Thursday that his car inside the garage was burning.The Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. But, the car was completely burnt down except the chassis. Abdur Rouf, Senior Station Officer of Rajshahi Fire Service station informed the garage was fully protected and there is no way to set fire on the car from outside the garage. Two more vehicles were kept inside the same garage.
If the fire of the car was not douzed, those two vehicles would also burnt down. He opined, the fire on the car may have erupted through short-circuit.
Naoshad Ali, Principal of RMC opined, the electric wiring system inside the garage might have been snapped during the recent storm or the car battery might have short-circuited and the car was burnt. There is no way to set the car on fire from outside of the garage.
