Members of RAB-13, Rangpur recovered 54-kilogramme of Cannabis concealed under sand laden truck at Nabdiganj Bazaar area on Rangpur-Kurigram highway on Monday night and arrested two drug peddler in this connection.
The arrested drug peddler were identified as Feroz Ali, 25, son of Kaiyum Pramanik of village Char Mohanpur under Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj district and Ratan Ali,21, son of Serajul Islam of koyra jangal JKhamar village under the same upazila.
Senior ASP Siddique Ahmed, Media Officer of RAB-13, Rangpur informed, acting on a tip off, RAB personnel searched a sand laden truck at Nabdiganj Bazaar area on Monday night and recovered 54-kilogramme of Cannabis kept concealed under the sand on the truck.
RAB also arrested Feroz Ali and Ratan Ali, driver and the helper of the truck respectively, in connection with the carrying those cannabis on their truck concealed under sand. Both the arrested persons were engaged in drug peddling under coverage of carrying sand, RAB sources informed further.
The cannabis was loaded under the sand from Lalmonirhat and it was supposed to supply to drug dealer in Sirajganj. Both of the arrested peddlers also admitted to carry drugs by concealing those under sand laden truck to various places of the country.
