Rani Begum, a house wife had delivered a child when she was taken to the operation theatre of Darus Sefa Private Hospital for conditional caesarian operation in the midnight of Tuesday.
When the physician and manager of the hospital had tied to conduct caesarian operation, the mother had requested not to do so as she had already given birth to a boychild there. But the duo did not care at all and threatened her to kill if she soughs further.
Rni Begum’s husband Al Amin of village Koyargachhi in Jhenaidah Sdar upazila, said they taken Rani begum to the private hospital for smooth delivery.
They had contracted with the authority for an amount of Tk 12,000 for a caesarian operation. But she (Rani) delivered a child before the operation.
But she had to undergo surgery unethically after repeated request not for doing so. Not only that the manager had slapped Rani Begum when she had barred for surgery.
Finding no other alternative, he had filed a case with Kaliganj police station against the physician and manager who had conducted operation, the husband alleged.
When tried to contact the physician Elora and the manger Masud, they were absconding since Wednesday morning.
Owner of the hospital Feroj Hossain when contacted, said Rani Begum went under caesarian operation due to severe bleeding immediate after the normal delivery. To save the lives of both mother and children, they had conducted surgery.
Kaliganj police station officer in charge Mahfuzur Rahman when contacted said they had received an allegation and investigating the matter. The police will take action if any irregularities found there.
