A meeting of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) had come to a decision to keep the prices of the essential commodities stable in the holly Ramadan. The meeting was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) on Wednesday morning.
Presided over by additional deputy commissioner (ADC, Revenue) Rathindra Nath Roy, DC SM Rafiqul Islam attended the discussion as the chief guest.
Retired principal of Government Keshab Chandra College Professor Dr. BM Rezaul Karim, additional superintendent of police in Jhenaidah Mahidur Rahman, ex vice principal NM Shahjalal, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection assistant director Nishat Meher, Jhenaidah chamber and commerce industry vice president Hafizur Rahman among pothers present. CAB Jhenaidah unit president Aminur Rahman Tuku presented the key note, while CAB general secretary Sharifa Khatun conducted the session as facilitator.
The discussants said they will keep the prices of the decides essential commodity stable in Ramadan when there was huge supply of all types of items throughout the country.
They had also made warning to take legal steps against the dishonest traders and hoarders liable for making any artificial crisis during the time.
