C'nawabganj peoeple all set to cast vote

The all preparations for holding 12th parliamentary elections in three constituencies of Chapainawabganj district in a peaceful, free and fair atmosphere have been taken up.

Voters are waiting to cost their mandate which will start at 8 am tomorrow and continue till 4 pm without any break.

Meanwhile, training of 9,545 polling officials including 512 presiding officers, 3,011 assistant presiding officers, 6,022 polling officers has been completed.

All necessary measures including security have been taken up so that the voters can exercise their voting power going to the vote-centres without any fear and hindrance.

A large number of the members of RAB, police and Ansar have been deployed.

Besides, members of Army and BGB will act as striking force to help the civil administration and the election commission.

The voters will cast their votes in 512 polling centres of the district.

The number of total voters in the district is 13,53,324 in which 6,83,428 male and 6,69,843 female, Chapainawabganj District Election Office sources said.

According to the District Returning Officer's office, in three constituencies of the district 13 platoons of BGB including two platoons reserved, 40 Ansars, 1,072 police members have been deployed to maintain law and order. The sources added that 20 executive magistrates and seven judicial magistrates will remain on duty.

Besides, a three member Electoral Inquiry Committee, a ten member Law and Order Cell, a 13 member Vigilance and Observation Team and a 24 member Election Monitoring Team have been formed.

Returning officer and deputy commissioner of Chapainawabganj AKM Galiv Khan said, all preparations for holding the parliamentary elections as per the directives of the Election Commission have been completed and the polls would be held in a festive, unhindered, free and fair atmosphere on January 7.

Superintendent of police Md. Saidul Hasan said, huge law enforcers have been deployed and polling is expected to be peaceful.
