Passenger buses in long routes resumed operation after continuous 49 days from and to Jhenaidah. They have been ignoring the government instructions for maintaining health guidelines including cleaning seats, washing hands of the transport staffs and passengers and cleaning the transport before entry and after the journey.
Further, the buses plying on Kushtia- Khulna and Shailkupa Jhenaidah local routes have been carrying excessive passengers, while realizing double fare from the passengers.
It has been leading more or less quarrel between the passengers and transport staffs, alleged the passengers.
When this correspondent visited Jhenaidah central bus terminal in Jhenaidah witnessed that none of the bus authorities was spraying sanitizers to keep the vehicles and passengers free from bacterial infestations. Most of the passengers were not wearing face masks also.
Moninul Islam, a passenger of Kaliskarpur area in Kushtia while traveling in Gorai Paribahan bus at Jhenaidah Central Bus Terminal said the conductor had realized Taka 200 from him for a trip to Barobazer from Kushtia, while the fare was hardly Taka 110 earlier.
Further, they bus authorities have advised another passenger to sit beside him unethically. It was simply the violation of government order. When contacted, the said conductor said the transport workers had been leading inhuman life for want of job for a long.
If they sometimes collect some additional money, it will help live them with regular bread now a day.
Additional deputy commissioner in Jhenaidah Selim Reza when contacted said they are going to conduct mobile courts s o that the people could not disobey the
health guidelines and government law any way when the global corona pandemic was grabbing the global.
