A motorcyclist killed and another person was injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle on the Faridpur-Bhanga Highway in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur on Friday.
The incident happened as the Dhaka-bound Golden Line bus collided head-on with the motorcycle coming from the other side at the Mashaujan area of the Talma intersection of the upazila around 8:00 am on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam, 24, a resident of Keshnagar in the Gerda Union of Sadar upazila of Faridpur. The injured is Eklas Uddin Sheikh.
Nagarkanda Fire Service Station Officer Md Shariful Islam confirmed the matter.
The bus also caught fire following the collision, and later, Nagarkanda Fire Service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, he said.
