A helper of ‘Sohag Paribahan’ bus was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at Shib Bari intersection in Khulna on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Sabbir, 26, of Kachua area of Bagerhat.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonadanga Model Police Station Mamtazul Haque confirmed the matter.
The OC said that the driver of the ‘Sohag Paribahan’ bus parked the vehicle in the area at night after returning from Dhaka. The helper Sabbir was sleeping inside the bus at that time.
In the early hours, miscreants entered the bus and stabbed the helper and fled, leaving him serious injuries, he said.
Co-workers of Sabbir found his body in the bus later in the morning and informed police. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said.
He also said that police are trying to identify the killers and lelgal action will be taken in this connection.
