According to local residents, a fire broke out in the farm of woman entrepreneur Nayan Selima in Kalatali Goymatoli village of Cox's Bazar municipality on the afternoon of July 14. At this time, 2 residential houses were also burnt to ashes. The farmer claimed that the fire caused a loss of around 50 lakh taka.
Locals said that the fire started in the farm at 3 pm on Thursday. In no time, the fire spread to 2 houses and the entire farm. On receiving the information, 3 units of Cox's Bazar Fire Service and Civil Defense reached the spot and brought the fire under control in 3 hours with the help of locals.
Chicken farmer woman entrepreneur Nayan Selina said, she raised chickens on the farm with a loan from Dutch Bangla Bank. The farm has been making losses for a long time and it has suffered a lot in this fire. Four sheds of his farm were gutted in the fire. About 2,500 layers of chicken, 1,000 eggs, food worth 1 lakh taka were burnt to ashes. He claimed that the fire caused a loss of around 50 lakh taka.
Woman entrepreneur and farm owner Nayan Selina said that five days have passed after the fire but still no government or private assistance has been received. The owner of the farm, Nayan Selina, has also lodged a complaint with the Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station saying that the fire started from the fire of the furnace in the neighboring house. On Sunday, a police team from Sadar Model Police Station visited the spot and spoke to the locals.
