BUP organises seminar on practices of taxation in Bangladesh

Department of Business Administration in Accounting and Information Systems and BUP Accounting Forum (BUPAF) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) jointly organized a seminar titled “Practices of Taxation in Bangladesh” on Sunday for the students of third year. The main objective of this class room seminar was to introduce Company taxation practices used in Bangladesh and corporate taxation reporting approaches in Financial Accounting as a part of their course work named ‘Principles and Practices of Taxation in Bangladesh’.

The key-note speaker of the session was Wasik Abdullah Momit ACA, manager of ACNABIN Chartered Accountants. He took the session in an interactive approach and gave detailed information about the current taxation practices in Bangladesh focusing mainly on Companies. Chairman of the Department Lt Col Alauddin Al-Mamun was present in the seminar along with the course teacher Lecturer Mohammed Moin Uddin Reza. Chairman encouraged and appreciated such class room interactions with the professionals for better insights about the course.

The key-note speaker took an instant quiz and selected one best learner from the student pool. The best learner received a memento of appreciation from key-note speaker as well. The session ended with handing over crest to the respected key-note speaker.
