On the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day, Barishal University Journalists' Association (BUJA) has exhibited 142 photographs titled with rare and historical photos of Bangabandhu.
On Monday at 11 a.m., the University's Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Sadequl Arefin and University Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Badruzzaman Bhuiyan inaugurated the photo exhibition.
From 1947 to 1975 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, liberation war, surrender of Pakistan forces, liberation war of Bangladesh in world media various pictures related to liberation war are displayed in the photo exhibition.
BU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Sadequl Arefin said, the information about how Bangabandhu has contributed to various events in history has been published here through images. I have seen everyone, here is a description of how Bangabandhu was presented in different plots of history from 1947 to 1975. These pictures speak a lot in less words. The young generation will know Bangabandhu and Bangladesh anew from this. Barishal University Journalists' Association applauds such an arrangement.
Treasurer Professor of Barishal University, Mohammad Badruzzaman Bhuiyan said, Bangabandhu is Bangladesh. Bangabandhu's life and work are worthy of following and emulation for the younger generation. Bangabandhu's ideology has been spread among the students through this photo exhibition. Young people are getting to know Bangabandhu anew.
Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saiful Islam, Shaheed Abdur Rob Serniabat Barishal Press Club's General Secretary S. M. Zakir Hossain were also present at this time. President of BU Teachers Association Abdul Kaium, proctor of the university Md. Khorshed Alam, Provost of Bangabandhu Hall Arif Hossain, Sher Bangla Hall Provost Abu Jafar Mia, TSC Director Jyotirmoy Biswas, teachers of various departments of the university were present.
