Students of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) became the winner of Indo-Bangla T-20 Cricket Tournament 2019 by 42 runs beating Daffodil International University team. BUBT student Hasif Rahman Ridoy secured the trophy of the man of the match in the final match which took place on Monday at DIU permanent campus. Highest runs were swept by BUBT student Mustafizur Rahman Dipu and Farhan Shovon. They took 49 and 42 runs individually.
After DIU team won the toss, they chose fielding and packed BUBT team in 170 runs with 18.5 overs. After they opted to bat and collected only 128 runs in 18.3 overs they lost the game. Sanjoy Biswas, Chairman, Sports and Entertainment BD Ltd handed over the trophy and certificates among the players of the champion team.
Professor Dr Shfique Ahmed Siddique, Chairman, BUBT Trust, Professor Md Abu Saleh, Vice Chancellor, BUBT and Professor Mian Lutfar Rahman, Advisor, Students’ Affairs, BUBT expressed greetings to the winners. Shahjahan Mia, Assistant Professor, EEE and Executive Advisor, BUBT Sports Club coordinated the BUBT team activities. A H M Azmal Hossain, Joint Registrar, BUBT, Abdullah Al Azad, Assistant Professor of English and Assistant Proctor, BUBT, Kazal Kumar Das, Lecturer in English, the Club president, vice president and executive members also aided the team.
