Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Club organized a robotics contest entitled ‘BEC ROBO MANIA 2019’ on Saturday at the International Conference Hall of the university campus, Rupnagar, Dhaka. Around 70 teams from different universities participated in this contest.
As the Chief Guest, Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) inaugurated the contest. In his speech he advised students to tolerate other’s opinions. He said, “It is ok when you make a robot but you should not make yourself a robot. This world is controlled by giant tech companies who have the power of information and the artificial intelligence. This time is critical. You have to be efficient and good human to face this challenge.”
Professor Dr Shafique Ahmed Siddique, chairman, BUBT Trust; Professor Md Abu Saleh, vice chancellor, BUBT; Professor Dr Enayet Hossain Miah, treasurer, BUBT; Professor Mian Lutfar Rahman, advisor, Student Affairs and chief coordinator, Extra-Curricular Activities, BUBT; Dr Muhammad Fayyaz Khan, professor, Department of EEE, BUBT and Professor Dr Mohammad Ameer Ali, dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, BUBT were present as the special guests of the inaugural session. Engineer M Azharul Haque, chairman, Department of EEE, BUBT was the session chair. Md Mahfuzul Haque, assistant professor of Physics, Department of EEE delivered the welcome speech. Md Sabbir Ahmed, assistant professor in English anchored the session.
Members of BUBT Trust, Deans of all Faculties, Research Director, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Joint Registrar, Joint Director (AC), Proctor, Chairmen of all Departments; Faculty members, Officials and students were present in the ceremony.
