BU organises cricket tournament

The Sardar Express of Bangladesh University has won the honor of being the undefeated champion in the ‘Kazi Azhar Ali Memorial Cricket Tournament-2019’ in commemoration of the founding Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University.

They won against the CSE team in the final championship match held at the Udaychal Club grounds adjacent to the university on Thursday noon.

After winning the toss, Sardar Express lost 3 wickets in the 12 overs and got 175 runs. The highest score was gotten by Mehrab Hossain Joshi who got 70 runs. In the second innings, the opponents got a total of 88 runs losing all their wickets in 11 overs. Faruk scored the maximum of 25 runs for the team. 

Sardar Express's Mehrab Hossain Joshi was selected as Man of the Match for the championship match. Mehdi Hasan Megh has been named Man of the Tournament.

After the match, acting Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University, Kamrul Hasan distributed the prizes among the winners. University Registrar Brig Gen Md Mahbubul Haque (retd), Director (Technical) Eng: Kazi Taif Sadat, CSE Department Head Sadiq Iqbal, Head of English Department Sheikh Alauddin, Organising Committee Member Mir Amjad Hossain Akash, Emon, Shipar Ahmed, and a large number of teachers, officials and students enjoyed the match.
