Bangladesh Teachers Association (BTA) has demanded nationalisation of secondary education, in order to drive out the prevailing disparity between government and non-government institutions at the level.
Leader of the association placed the demand at a press conference held at Jhenaidah press club on Tuesday morning. The speakers noted that the country's education system has a huge disparity between the government and non-government streams. The only way to eliminate the inequality is to nationalise the education system, specially at the secondary level, they said.
BTA Jhenaidah district unit preside Mahiuddin had read the written speech where BTA and general secretary Alamgir Hossain among others present.
District unit president Mahiuddin said the non-government institution teachers throughout the country have been facing injustice when the same status teachers of government institutions have been availing adequate facilities from the government.
They demanded immediate solution to the problems other wise to face tougher action in near future, they had warned.
