Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) is going to take punitive actions against those traders who market goods without BSTIs’ license, which is compulsory for traders. Punitive measures are to be taken against the business firms which do not have legal licenses.
The Director General of BSTI passed the above comments in a view exchange meeting with Bangladesh Steel Manufacturers Association in the head office of BSTI at Tejgaon in the capital on Tuesday. The DG of BSTI said, “ From Jan- July 2019, we have issued 2614 licenses, led 1376 mobile courts, identified 743 illegal farms, filed cases against them, and realized Tk2 crore 87lakh and 50 thousand as fine.” Secretary General of Bangladesh Steel Manufacturers Association Mohammad Shahidullah, Founding President and Manaaging Director of SSRM group Sheikh Masudul Alam Masud, Executive Director Md Shamsul Alam Khan, Director of GPH group MD Ashrafuzzaman, Chairman of RRM group Sumon Chowdhury, Deputy Director of BSRM group Md Abdul Monsur along with other distinguished guests were also present in the view-exchange meeting.
