Intekhabul Hamid, the Secretary General (SG) of the Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation (BSSF), served as the Chef de Mission for the Bangladesh Sports Team at the Paris Olympics. However, he did not return home after the Olympics, reportedly travelling to Singapore from Paris. His date of return remains unknown.
In his absence, Deputy Secretary General (1) Colonel (Retd.) Mohammad Ali is acting as the Secretary General. Despite the Secretary General's absence, the BSSF's activities continue without disruption. A training camp with 30 shooters is ongoing alongside regular official duties.
Bangladesh is set to participate in the shooting pistol event at the Martial Arts Indoor Games in Bangkok, Thailand, in November. Concurrently, the Asian Air Gun Competition will also take place in Bangkok, with Bangladesh competing in both Rifle and Pistol events.
Deputy Secretary General (2) Mushtaq Wise stated that the ongoing training camps are part of the regular activities, with preparations for the upcoming competitions also in focus. Although Iranian coach Zaire Rezaei has returned home due to visa expiration, former shooters Shakil Ahmed and Sharmin Ratna are training the athletes. Mushtaq mentioned, "The Iranian coach is trying to obtain a new visa. He will return if he gets it."
