BSMRSTU halls reopen after 18 months

The authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) reopened its student halls on a limited scale from Thursday morning after 18 months of closure.

Bachelor and Master’s final year students who had at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, moved in their respective halls showing vaccination certificate and university ID card around 9am after the gates opened. Md. Rokonuzzaman, president of BSMRSTU Provost council said, students of other academic years will also be able to move back to their respective halls on October 20. Miraj Hossain, a resident of Sheikh Rasel hall said, It feels really good to be back at my hall after so long.

After visiting Shadhinata Dibos hall, Bijoy Dibos hall, Shekh Rasel hall, Bngamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib hall and Sheikh Rehana Hall it was seen that authorities were ready to welcome students maintaining Covid-19 hygiene rules. To ensure Covid-19 hygiene rules sinks were also installed with soaps for students to wash hands before entering.

Dr. AQM Mahbub, the Vice Chancellor of the University visited all the halls between 10.30am to 11.00 am.  During the visit, he told reporters, "We have taken all necessary measures to ensure Covid-19 hygiene rules.”
